Marilyn Monroe Hair
Marilyn Monroe was an idol for so many of us, even today after her death and for so many reasons. Many would remember her for her breathy voice and amazing dresses while others would simply look back and smile at her womanly curves and acting ambition.
One thing that remained true, no matter how you look back at the famous actress and that is that she always looked perfectly turned out, from the shoes that she was wearing to the hairstyle that she was sporting.

Marilyn Monroe’s hair was very much a big part of the woman and even today, we can still see a few of her classic styles on the catwalk.
Charlize Theron has been out and about with looks very similar to that of Marilyn as have many other of our favorite celebrity idols and although for the most of the time, Marilyn wore her hair fairly short, she managed to do a great deal of things with it.

Curls, straight styles and even a few elegant up do’s have all been associated with Marilyn Monroe hair and most of them are easily achieved by all hair types today as well as many face shapes.
One of the most iconic things about her was the platinum blonde look which gave her the nickname, The Blonde Bombshell, a phrase that many use to describe platinum blonde looks today.
From the really curly and short hairstyles that she was sporting to the wavy medium ones, the red lips, white blonde hair and gorgeous figure are something that will live on still for a great many years!

Short Prom Hairstyles
Most prom hairstyles for short hair should focus on taking attention away from your hair and putting it on your dress. Experiment with a sleek look. Take some gel or pomade and create a definite part in your hair.
Then slick the hair away from either side of the part as well as away from your face. You can even use the pomade to create a slightly sculpted look around your face. Think of Lisa Minnelli in Cabaret, but less androgynous.
Your prom hairstyle for short hair can also combine some sleekness and some textures. Brush the front half of your hair into a smooth part that frames either side of your face. If you want, you can clip it out of your eyes with a small jeweled barrette.
Then, in the back, add sculpting wax and back brush your hair to give it spiky body. If you’re feeling really adventurous, pull your crimping iron out of the closet and create a prom hairstyle for short hair with a pattern of textured and non-textured hair throughout your head.
For example, let the hair closest to your face be smooth and then crimp the next four or five inch chunk before crimping and back brushing the whole back of your head.

For a more whimsical prom hairstyle for short hair, go for sparkly butterfly clips. Take a small part of your hair, twist it, and tie it in a loose knot. Then you should soften the ends with a curling iron. Use a butterfly clip to attach it to your head.
Space the knots evenly or have smaller knots on top and thicker knots in the back. It creates a halo of soft hair punctuated by shining butterflies. You will look innocent and gorgeous all at the same time.
